In this article we take a look at the upcoming dividends and earnings to watch out for on the ASX this week.
Earnings This Week
ASX listed stocks report earnings twice a year – once for the full year and once for the half ear. Some dual-listed stocks report earnings quarterly. Full Year earnings are released in February for companies whose fiscal year ends on 31 December and in August from companies whose fiscal year ends on 30 June.
We are in a period where it is rare for quarterly earnings release and no full or half year releases so once again, there are no earnings releases for the week of 30th June.

Ex-Dividend Dates This Week
This week six ASX stocks are going ex-dividend
The ex-dividend date is the cut-off point for determining the number of shareholders eligible to receive the upcoming dividend. Anyone purchasing shares one day or more before the ex-dividend date qualify as recipients of the dividend. On the ex-dividend date the company and the market know how much the company will pay out in dividends.
The first trading day after the ex-dividend date the total amount of the dividends is reflected in the share price. The stock price typically falls in response but recovers in anywhere from a few f days to a few months.. That presents a window of opportunity to buy at a bargain price, as long as the investor has the patience to wait for the next dividend date. In Australia dividends are paid twice a year.
