Kingsrose Mining Limited (ASX: KRM) has announced a significant progress update on its exploration projects in partnership with BHP (ASX: BHP) in Finnmark, Norway, and Central Finland. The company is focusing on unearthing critical minerals, including copper, nickel, and platinum group elements (PGEs), utilizing advanced geophysical and geochemical techniques.
Fabian Baker, Managing Director of Kingsrose Mining Limited, expressed his enthusiasm about the exploration progress and emphasised the vital support provided by BHP. He highlighted the importance of these findings in strengthening the company’s strategic position in the critical minerals market.
The exploration program has yielded promising results, particularly with samples taken from the Porsanger and Virdnechokka areas. Sample 14398 from Porsanger contains a chalcocite-bornite-quartz vein with exceptionally high grades, including 29.7% copper (Cu), 0.01% nickel (Ni), 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold (Au), 53 g/t silver (Ag), 0.54 g/t palladium (Pd), and 0.02 g/t platinum (Pt). These results are indicative of the potential for high-value mineral deposits in the region.
Moreover, Sample 14508 from Virdnechokka has revealed a chalcopyrite-quartz vein with 4.4% copper, 0.01% nickel, 1.8 g/t of gold, 0.50 g/t palladium, and 0.06 g/t platinum. These findings underscore the capability of the exploration techniques employed, which have successfully identified substantial grades of valuable minerals.
These developments not only highlight the progress of Kingsrose and BHP’s joint exploration efforts but also point to the promising potential for future discoveries. The ongoing support and collaboration with BHP play a crucial role in advancing these mineral exploration initiatives, reinforcing Kingsrose’s objectives to secure a strong foothold in the critical minerals sector.
