Artemis Resources (ASX: ARV) has appointed Julian Hanna as its new Managing Director, signaling a strategic move as the company prepares for an extensive drilling campaign at its Karratha gold project. Known for his remarkable track record in the mining industry, Hanna transitions from his previous role as Senior Technical Advisor at Artemis Resources to lead the company through this promising phase.
Julian Hanna brings substantial experience to Artemis, having previously guided companies such as Western Areas and MOD Resources to notable successes. During his tenure, Western Areas was acquired in a significant $1.3 billion cash takeover, while MOD Resources was bought for $167 million by Sandfire Resources. This history of successful leadership and strategic operations positions Hanna as a pivotal figure in Artemis’s future pursuits.
The primary focus of Hanna’s new role at Artemis is to uncover undiscovered gold deposits at the Carlow site in the Pilbara region. Artemis holds a substantial 200km² land package in the area, targeting multiple gold prospects. The Carlow Castle project itself hosts an inferred resource of approximately 374,000 ounces of gold and 64,000 tonnes of copper. Complementing these assets is Artemis’s 100% owned Radio Hill processing plant, enabling efficient processing of extracted minerals.
This managerial appointment and strategic focus underscore Artemis’s commitment to leveraging its extensive asset base and Hanna’s expertise to achieve substantial growth and development in the Pilbara region’s mineral-rich landscape.
