Upcoming Dividends
There is only one company going ex-dividend this week, so those looking for bargains from ex-dividend dates will have to wait.
Investors considering adding dividend paying stocks to their portfolios need to keep track of the ex-dividend dates posted by the dividend payers.
The ex-dividend date is the cutoff point for investors who will qualify to receive an upcoming dividend, with purchases at least one day before the ex-dividend date.
Ex-dividend dates offer investors an opportunity beyond benefiting from the declared dividend payment. To compensate for the cash paid out in dividends, the share price typically falls to reflect the cash payment, providing a bargain buying opportunity for investors.
This week there is just one company going ex-dividend.
