Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange:

NUF – NUFARM – down 19 cents, or 2.2 per cent, at $8.59

Nufarm shares have slipped after the agricultural chemicals supplier warned half-year earnings would suffer from weak November trade and the shutdown of manufacturing facilities outside Melbourne.

TLS – TELSTRA – down 0.5 cents, or 0.1 per cent, at $3.625

The proposed merger between Foxtel and Fox Sports Australia won’t be opposed by the consumer watchdog because it believes the deal will not reduce competition.
