Jabil’s stock (NYSE: JBL) heads into earnings off the back of a mighty year, up 58% YTD, and 110% over the past 12 months. The company is scheduled to put up Q3 results before the market opens tomorrow, with plenty of eyes moving towards the print. The electronics manufacturing services provider will update investors on revenue performance across its cloud, AI, and traditional manufacturing segments after delivering a stronger-than-expected second quarter in May.

Looking to Wall Street, and the nine analysts covering the stock expect an EPS share of $3.12, with estimates ranging from $3.03 to $3.25. That represents a 21% year-on-year increase from the $2.55 reported in the same quarter last year. Revenue is expected to come in at $8.66 billion, for a 10.64% Y/Y growth rate.

The most important figure on earnings day will be whether Jabil can sustain the momentum from its May quarter beat. Management raised near-term revenue guidance at that time, but maintained a relatively cautious full-year outlook. Investors will be watching for any shift in tone around full-year expectations, particularly in light of strong demand for AI and cloud infrastructure components.

Revenue mix will be critical. Jabil’s higher-margin business lines including cloud solutions, connectivity, and advanced compute components, have been outperforming traditional contract manufacturing. Any colour on the ramp speed of next-generation AI and machine learning programs will likely move the stock after the print.

Operating margin performance and free cash flow commentary will also matter. The company has historically delivered modest free cash flow margins relative to revenue, and any improvement in cash conversion or working capital efficiency would be seen as a positive signal by the market.

Guidance will be the key driver. Jabil’s recent practice of raising near-term forecasts while keeping full-year outlooks conservative means any shift in that pattern will be closely scrutinised. If management becomes more confident about sustained AI and cloud demand through calendar 2026, that could reset investor expectations and support further gains.

The Setup

Jabil operates in the electronics manufacturing services sector, which has seen strong performance in recent quarters driven by AI, cloud, and datacenter infrastructure demand. Peer companies such as Celestica and Sanmina have reported similar trends, with rising cash flow and revenue growth tied to next-generation compute programs.

However, the sector also faces headwinds. US-China trade tensions under the current administration have created uncertainty around component sourcing and production. Environmental regulations on e-waste and emissions are also forcing manufacturers to adjust operations, potentially adding cost pressures.

Jabil’s recent operational performance has been solid. The company beat second-quarter expectations and raised near-term revenue guidance, signalling confidence in immediate demand. But slower long-term revenue growth projections and relatively modest free cash flow margins remain concerns for some investors. Recent insider selling has added to valuation concerns, with some market participants questioning whether the current share price already embeds optimistic assumptions.

Options markets are pricing a move around 8.9%, setting the stage for a volatile session for JBL holders.
