Mineral Resources shares (ASX:MIN) jumped above the A$60 threshold for the first time in weeks, with bulls looking for the level to hold as part of a more meaningful upside move.
The MinRes share closed at A$60.33, up 5.01% in a session that saw the diversified miner recapture a psychologically important price level after a bumpy start to 2026. The move marks a notable return to form for shares that have endured a turbulent period, having pulled back 20% from the late January high. The shares traded as low as A$50 in recent weeks, yet remain firmly in the green on a 1 year basis, up 181%.
Today’s sharp single-day gain pushed MinRes back into positive momentum territory, with the stock eyeing a breakout above technical resistance that had capped previous attempts higher.
Record breaking H1 results will do plenty of good for bull sentiment.
Operationally, on iron ore, the Onslow narrative is shifting from execution risk toward cash flow visibility. As shipments become routine and capital expenditure peaks, MinRes is transitioning from the “build” to “harvest” phase on infrastructure that is expected to underpin earnings for decades.

Technical factors also played a role in the move. After a post rally pause and pullback, MinRes shares are testing the appetite above A$60, potentially looking for clues as to the next leg.
