The Aussie market ended the first trading session of the year on a negative note, with the ASX200 falling 92.5pts or 1.3% to 6946.2. All sectors finished in the red, with the Financials sector losing the most ground (-1.9%). Telco and Energy stocks shed 1.3%. Tech -1.5%.
