Mader Group shares (ASX:MAD) dipped into the close, down 2.99% at A$7.15, having earlier made a new high of A$7.65. A volatile day, follows a strong 2025 for Mader, with shares adding 17.6% since the turn of the year.
Technically, Mader Group faces resistance around A$7.40, a level that has proven difficult to breach decisively. To the downside, support can be expected around the psychological A$7.00, a point which had provided resistance on the way up. A strong hold above this support level could signal a continuation of the upward trend, while a break below could point to a correction.
Analysts are generally optimistic about Mader Group’s prospects. The consensus rating is “Moderate Buy”, with a 12-month average price target of AU$6.67. However, it’s worth noting that this price target is below the current trading price, suggesting limited near-term upside potential according to this average.
Upcoming earnings, slated for release around August 25, will be crucial for maintaining market confidence. The consensus forward EPS for the next year is 0.28 AUD.
Despite the positive outlook, the company’s return on invested capital (ROIC) of 20.61% has raised some concerns about capital allocation efficiency. While a respectable figure, improvements in this area could further enhance shareholder value. The last half year revenue was also a miss vs estimates, so this must be closely monitored for future reporting.

A new high into the weekend set’s us up for an interesting period on the horizon. Earnings are approaching, momentum is building, yet the share price is trading in a range has proved difficult to hold in the past. The strength of any move, as far as volume, could be as important, if not moreso, than an actual break either way.
