Droneshield Ltd (ASX: DRO) closed at A$4.00, up 6.1%, having hit a new all-time-high of A$4.20 early in the session, continuing its impressive rally and signalling strong buying pressure. The stock has experienced substantial gains recently, reflecting strong market momentum and renewed market enthusiasm.

The recent rally represents DroneShield’s strongest upward movement in 2025, although the company has historically experienced share price volatility. While the company has not yet achieved positive net income, with a last reported FY net loss of A$1.32 million, annual revenues have reached A$57.53 million.

Defense is a hot topic, and with NATO countries having committed to spending more of their GDP on the sector, it comes as no surprise. With drone defense seen as an important tool, companies like DroneShield have been picking up a wave of new interested buyers it seems.

DroneShield’s success is underpinned by significant contract wins. On June 25, the company secured a substantial A$61.6 million contract to supply drone detection systems to a European military customer, highlighting the increasing demand for counter-drone technologies.

Earlier, on April 14, the company announced a A$32.2 million order from an Asia-Pacific military government department, further expanding its regional footprint.

The company has also expanded its Sydney manufacturing facility, increasing its capacity to produce up to A$500 million worth of products annually. This expansion is expected to drive significant revenue in FY25 and beyond.

The combination of a new ATH, strong weekly gains, and growing interest in drone security solutions has placed Droneshield in the spotlight. After such a huge run up, there can be some disconnection between price action, and fundamentals, so extra caution is required for anyone with a position, or considering one. Momentum, and sentiment in the sector has seen DRO gain 62.6% in the past month alone, although this came with a pullback of more than 23% into the end of July.
