DroneShield shares (ASX:DRO) closed out the week at A$3.63 today, marking a 3.2% drop into the weekend. Despite today’s pullback, the stock showcased strength on the week, posting impressive gains of 21.81%.

The company reported financials this week, proving to be a positive for holders. A trailing twelve-month (TTM) net income of negative A$1.32 million, with TTM revenue of A$57.53 million indicates that while revenue is growing strongly, the company is not yet profitable on a net basis.

In the second quarter of 2025, DroneShield announced a remarkable 480% surge in revenue, reaching 38.8 million. This exceeded the previous high of 33.5 million from the first quarter of 2025, signaling a robust growth trajectory.

The company’s revenue pipeline appears highly secure, with AUD 176.3 million already secured or committed through purchase orders for delivery in 2025. This high level of committed revenue offers significant visibility and reduces future earnings uncertainty.

CEO Oleg Vornik emphasized that recent contracts “reflects the growing operational need for portable counter-drone capabilities and DroneShield’s continued role in delivering solutions aligned with Defence requirements.”

While the market is currently focused on DroneShield’s impressive revenue growth and secured contracts, there’s a risk of overvaluation. The company’s negative earnings highlight a critical need to demonstrate profitability soon. The share price has risen dramatically, and much of the future growth may already be priced in.

A firm win for the bulls on the week, yet shares continue to bump into resistance around A$3.75. Markets globally pulled back today on sweeping new tariffs from the U.S, with the ASX 200 also ending firmly lower, down 0.92%. With uncertainty in the market, some risk coming off the table can be expected, especially after a bull run such as we have seen here. Droneshield’s share price has added 384% since the start of the year, with the defense sector around drones clearly an area of heightened interest, and spending.
