The Australian share market is expected to open lower following slight losses on Wall Street at the end of last week.

The SPI200 futures contract was down 17 points, or 0.26 per cent, at 6,571.0 at 0800 AEST, suggesting an early dip for the benchmark S&P/ASX200 on Monday.

Wall Street finished lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.13 per cent, the S&P 500 down 0.13 per cent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite down 0.24 per cent.

The Aussie dollar is buying 69.30 US cents from 69.22 US cents on Friday.
