Workers at a dairy factory run by Murray Goulburn in regional Victoria will switch off the lights for the last time as the plant closes.

The processing facility at Rochester, 180km north of Melbourne, will close on Wednesday, a week after the final day of production on January 24.

‘The decision to close the Rochester site was difficult to make, however, a necessary step on the journey to ensure the competitiveness of MG,’ chief executive Ari Mervis said in a statement.
