Residents in outback NSW may find it hard to sleep in the following few days with mercury not forecast to drop below the 30C mark on Tuesday.

Heatwave conditions are forecast from Sunday until Tuesday in the state’s western and central western communities, according to the weather bureau.

Temperatures in Tibooburra, Cobar, Wilcannia, Broken Hill and as far south as Ivanhoe will hover around 45C until Tuesday.

Most of NSW will be hot for the next three days with temperatures in the 30s.
