BUY RECOMMENDATIONS

BUY –  Avecho Biotechnology (AVE)

AVE is developing proprietary drug delivery technologies, with its lead program targeting insomnia through a cannabidiol capsule formulation. The company recently announced a positive interim analysis of its phase III insomnia trial after 244 patients completed treatment. The existing commercial partnership with Sandoz Group AG in Australia provides strong third party validation, while international licensing discussions continue to progress. Although regulatory and clinical risks remain until final phase III results are reported, the positive interim outcome has materially strengthened the investment case, supporting a speculative buy recommendation.

BUY  – Saturn Metals (STN)

Saturn Metals is a gold development company advancing the Apollo Hill Gold Project in Western Australia, one of Australia’s largest undeveloped gold deposits. The company recently delivered a significant mineral resource upgrade, increasing the Apollo Hill resource to 2.83 million ounces of gold, including a substantial increase in higher confidence measured and indicated resources. This strengthens the project’s development potential and provides a solid foundation for ore reserve growth and ongoing definitive feasibility study work. A large scale asset amid exposure to elevated gold prices and multiple development catalysts ahead, Saturn remains well positioned to create long term shareholder value. While development and funding risks remain, the recent resource upgrade and clear pathway towards production support a buy recommendation, in our view.

HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS

HOLD – Pacgold (PGO)

This gold development company is transitioning to producer following the acquisition of the White Dam Gold Project in South Australia, where production has commenced and cash flow is expected to strengthen as operations ramp up. The company has also announced the proposed demerger of its north Queensland exploration assets. But it enables shareholders to retain exposure through in-specie distribution and priority access to the planned Manda Resources initial public offering. This transaction has the potential to unlock value by separating the producing White Dam asset from the exploration portfolio. While the strategy is appealing, execution of the production ramp-up and proposed Manda listing remains key, supporting a hold recommendation.

HOLD – Syntara (SNT)

Syntara is a clinical stage biotechnology company developing novel therapies targeting fibrosis, neurodegenerative diseases and rare blood disorders. The company recently reported encouraging phase 2 results for SNT-4728 in patients with isolated REM sleep behaviour disorder (iRBD), demonstrating improvements across key clinical end points, while maintaining a favourable safety profile. Also, Syntara announced that enrolment in its SNT-9465 phase 1b skin scarring trial has exceeded 50 per cent, supporting continued progress across its fibrosis pipeline. These developments strengthen confidence in the company’s diversified clinical portfolio and provide several upcoming catalysts. Given encouraging clinical momentum balanced against the inherent risks of drug development, a hold recommendation remains appropriate.

SELL RECOMMENDATIONS

SELL – Wesfarmers (WES)

Market leading businesses include retailers Bunnings, Kmart Group and Officeworks. The company delivered a strong first half result in full year 2026, reporting net profit after tax of $1.603 billion, up 9.3 per cent, reflecting continued earnings growth across its retail portfolio amid disciplined operational execution. Despite these strong fundamentals, much of the company’s quality and long term growth outlook appear fully reflected in its premium valuation. While Wesfarmers remains an outstanding long term business, future upside may be constrained by elevated market expectations. Given the strong share price performance and demanding valuation, the current risk-reward balance supports taking profits at current levels.

SELL – Pro Medicus (PME)

The company provides medical imaging software and services to hospitals and healthcare groups across the world. The company recently delivered an outstanding first half result in full year 2026. Underlying earnings before interest and tax was up 29.7 per cent and revenue was up 28.4 per cent amid securing more than $A280 million in new contract wins. Despite these exceptional fundamentals, the company’s premium valuation reflects high market expectations and leaves limited room for disappointment. While Pro Medicus remains a best-in-class business with strong long term prospects, the current risk-reward balance supports a view to trim holdings at current levels.

BUY RECOMMENDATIONS

BUY – Krakatoa Resources (KTA)

The explorer offers exposure to the critical minerals and gold sectors. It’s advancing the Zopkhito high grade antimony and gold project in the US state of Georgia, while exploring for other critical minerals in Western Australia and New South Wales. Exploration has the potential to create shareholder value, while ongoing drilling programs and technical progress provide near term catalysts. Demand from the global energy transition could be a catalyst. Although exploration stocks are inherently high risk, Krakatoa offers significant upside if it can convert exploration potential into meaningful discoveries. KTA is a speculative buying opportunity for investors comfortable with risk.

BUY –  Australian Oil Company (AOK)

Given continuing concerns about east coast gas supplies and an increasing focus on domestic energy security, companies capable of advancing local oil and gas projects are well positioned to benefit. Australian Oil Company offers leverage to improving energy fundamentals, with potential upside from operational milestones, reserve growth and future commercial development. While exploration and development companies carry higher risk, positive AOK project updates could drive a significant re-rating. For investors with a higher risk tolerance, AOK presents an appealing opportunity to gain exposure to a sector that remains strategically important to Australia’s economy.

HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS

HOLD – Botala Energy (BTE)

The company is advancing its flagship Serowe Coal Bed Methane Project in Botswana. It continues to work towards demonstrating the commercial viability of its resource base. The long term investment thesis is supported by growing regional demand for reliable energy and the country’s need to diversify its power generation mix. While Botala offers attractive long term potential, it remains an early stage developer rather than a cash generating producer.

HOLD – Godolphin Resources (GRL)

The company is focusing on exploring and developing critical minerals and metals. Company tenements are prospective for gold, silver, base metals and rare earths. Gold continues to benefit from geopolitical uncertainty and central bank demand, while rare earths and copper are expected to play an increasingly important role in the global energy transition. This gives Godolphin exposure to several commodities with attractive structural demand drivers. While the company has continued to advance exploration across its key assets, I believe the stock is best viewed as a hold until further drilling results and resource growth provide greater clarity on its long term value.

SELL RECOMMENDATIONS

SELL –  ReadyTech Holdings (RDY)

An unsolicited, non-binding indicative proposal to acquire ReadyTech Holdings was rejected by the RDY board on June 1, 2026. The RDY board concluded that the $2 a share cash scheme arrangement and a parallel off market bid of $1.75 a share didn’t reflect the company’s inherent value and wouldn’t be executable. The shares were trading at $1.61 on July 15. ReadyTech has built a quality software business with recurring revenue across education, workforce management and government solutions. However, I believe much of the company’s long term growth potential is already reflected in the share price, limiting scope for further upside in the near term. ReadyTech operates in highly competitive markets.

SELL – Euro Manganese Inc (EMN)

EMN is a battery materials company developing the Chvaletice Manganese Project in the Czech Republic. While the long term outlook for battery materials remains attractive, I base my recommendation on execution risk and an uncertain market environment in the short to medium term. The company is still progressing towards commercial production and I suspect it will require substantial capital to develop its project. While high purity manganese is expected to play an important role in future battery chemistries, the timing and pace of demand growth remain uncertain

BUY RECOMMENDATIONS

BUY – SKS Technologies Group (SKS)

SKS specialises in electrical technologies and digital infrastructure. It offers services across audio visual, communications and electrical solutions in Australia. In our view, it’s a compelling buy in response to Australia’s data centre electrification boom. Sales revenue rose 13.6 per cent in the first half of 2026 when compared to the prior corresponding period, while profit before tax increased 52.8 per cent. EBITDA was up 42.9 per cent. The company is forecasting full year revenue of $340 million in full year 2026 at a profit before tax margin of 10 per cent. The forecast is underpinned by a robust order book and the Delta Elcom acquisition expanding its Sydney data centre footprint and representing a significant percentage of the domestic market.

BUY – Weebit Nano (WBT)

Weebit Nano develops advanced semiconductor memory technology. Licensing deals with Texas Instruments and onsemi have contributed to company performance. Revenue guidance of $10 million in full year 2026 and a recent capital raising of $102 million fortifies the balance sheet for artificial intelligence and research development. The shift towards a recurring royalty model generates long term operating leverage. Momentum and news flow are positive, although the multi year path from licence to royalty income remains the key execution risk.

HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS

HOLD – Yancoal Australia (YAL)

Yancoal is balancing strong fundamentals against a near term overhang. In April, YAL announced it would acquire 80 per cent of the Kestrel metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin for $US2.4 billion. The acquisition is accretive over the long term, but adds leverage. Diesel cost inflation threatens to push 2026 unit costs toward the top end of its guidance range. Consensus targets of about $7.02 on July 15 imply upside, but integration and coal price risks argue for holding the stock rather than adding.

HOLD – Metals X (MLX)

The company is Australia’s largest tin producer It has a 50 per cent equity interest in the Renison tin operation in Tasmania. Revenue of $285 million in full year 2025 was up 30 per cent on the prior corresponding period. However, much of this tin market tightness and consolidation now appears priced into the stock The stock is already reflecting a bullish structural tin thesis. So, in our view, MLX is better suited to holding than buying at these levels.

SELL RECOMMENDATIONS

SELL – Forrestania Resources (FRS)

FRS is a gold exploration and development company focusing on building quality projects across Western Australia’s mining districts. FRS announced on July 1 it had received binding commitments to raise about $310 million for the Edna May Gold Hub. The company’s objective is to have Edna May fully commissioned and operational in the first half of 2027. An institutional placement of 775 million shares was priced at 40 cents. The placement is shareholder dilutive and gold prices remain under pressure, in our view. The shares have fallen from 64 cents on May 18 to trade at 39 cents on July 15.

SELL –  Judo Capital Holdings (JDO)

This Australian lender focuses on small and medium size enterprises. Judo recently cut profit before tax guidance in fiscal year 2026 to between $163 million and $169 million from a previous range of between $180 million and $190 million. It was primarily driven by a higher cost of risk now expected to range between $116 million and $122 million following specific provisions against three exposures across different sectors. Profit before tax guidance of between $210 million and $220 million in full year 2027 was below market expectations of $255.1 million. In our view, market reaction reflects more than a one-off potential earnings downgrade. Provisioning risk remains elevated, so we retain a sell on Judo Capital.
