US President Donald Trump formally accepted the nomination of the Republican party to run for a second in the White House.

“I profoundly accept this nomination for president of the United States,” Trump said on Thursday night to a cheering group of many hundreds, crowded together on the grass outside the White House, most without masks and without any social distancing protocols enforced.

Trump is using the White House South Lawn for his speech, a decision that has drawn criticism he is using the official residence for partisan purposes.
