Miner Oz Minerals says copper and gold output will ramp up at its Carrapateena mine in South Australia after production began in December.
The miner produced its first saleable copper-gold concentrate at Carrapateena and expects output will reach 4.25 million tonnes per annum by the end of 2020.
The mine is expected to provide 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes of copper in 2020 and 35,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold, according to guidance notes.
Greater volumes are expected at the established Prominent Hill mine in the same state.
Copper production for the year should be 55,000 to 65,000 tonnes, while gold should be 165,000 to 185,000 ounces.
The miner produced 28,659 tonnes of copper and 36,808 tonnes of gold in the December quarter.
The results were within guidance levels for 2019.
