Ventia Services Group (ASX:VNT) has secured two major contracts with the Department of Defence, driving its share price higher amid positive market sentiment. The deals solidify Ventia’s position as a key infrastructure services provider.

Shares in Ventia closed 0.6% higher today, reflecting market approval of the contract wins. This brings the year-to-date increase to an impressive 39.72%, as bullish sentiment continues to hold firm.

The contracts, valued at approximately $2.7 billion, are part of the Department of Defence’s Base Services Transformation (BST) program. The initial term is six years, with options to extend for a further one to three years, potentially bringing the total agreement to ten years.

Ventia will deliver Living and Working Services (LWS) in the Northern Territory, Victoria, and Tasmania, and Property and Asset Services (PAS) in Western Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania. These packages represent a third of the total LWS and PAS packages available under the BST program.

This latest win builds on Ventia’s existing relationship with the Department of Defence. In March, Ventia announced a seven-month, $270 million extension of its existing Defence Base Services contract.

Dean Banks, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Ventia, stated that the company has supported Defence capability for over 36 years. He emphasized that this outcome highlights Ventia’s role as a trusted sovereign partner and leading employer.

Beyond its Defence contracts, Ventia has also been making strides in other sectors. In February, Ventia, through its subsidiary Visionstream Australia Pty Limited, secured a $2.1 billion field module contract with NBN Co for maintenance and customer activation services across the nbn® network.

Ventia was also awarded the Australian Government Department of Defence 2024 Base Services Contractor of the Year, reflecting Ventia’s commitment to service excellence and its strong partnership approach in delivering base services.

The market will be watching closely to see how Ventia integrates and executes these significant contracts. While the company’s strong performance and robust contract pipeline paint a positive picture, successful execution and management of project costs will be critical to sustaining its growth trajectory.
