Megaport Limited shares (ASX:MP1) surged to a four-year high following solid FY25 results and optimistic analyst sentiment, signalling renewed investor confidence in the cloud connectivity provider.
The MP1 share price hit an intraday high of A$16.10 on the ASX, closing at A$16.08 for a 13% increase for the day and an impressive 116.71% gain year-to-date. This surge reflects positive market reaction to Megaport’s recent financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Megaport’s FY2025 results, ending June 30, revealed ARR of $243.8million, 1000+ enabled data centers, and an 18% increase in large customers. Consensus estimates projected revenue between A$214 million and A$222 million for FY25, with EBITDA expected to range from A$57 million to A$65 million. The company beat across both, with total revenue coming in at $227.1 million, and EBITDA at $62.3 million above the mid-point of the range.
Year over year, ARR was up 20%, total revenue up 16%, and cash rising 43% to $102.1 million. These have set the company up well, and has given the bulls something to rally behind.

The share price momentum has also been supported by short-covering, increased institutional interest, and favorable foreign exchange movements, with AUD weakness boosting USD-denominated Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
Analysts hold an average price target of A$15.17, which reflects a perceived downside from the current price action, although there is a clear split between the bulls and bears here. The bullish high mark of A$19.09 indicates plenty of room to run, whilst the low on the street at A$11 remains a long way down from the highs hit today.
Despite the positive sentiment, some concerns remain. Valuation concerns persist, with a high price-to-sales ratio of 9x raising questions about the sustainability of the current valuation without accelerated profitability. Competitive pressures, stemming from premium pricing and a potentially limited moat, could erode market share as rivals scale. Regulatory and technological risks, such as EU data laws and potential satellite network disruption, also pose potential threats.
Megaport’s recent surge underscores a period of strong financial performance and strategic execution, yet it is important to carefully consider valuation and competitive pressures in the mix here.
