Liontown shares (ASX:LTR) surged to a new high of A$2.34, off the back of a one-month rally that has added 57.5% to the price, and pushed market cap to A$7.31 billion.
LTR shares have gained an impressive 350% over the past year, outperforming many of its peers in the materials sector, and has decisively broken above the A$2.20 resistance level in Tuesday’s move, charting a course for price levels not witnessed since late 2023.
Liontown is scheduled to report earnings on April 30, 2026, with the event likely to be the next major catalyst outside of macro, or geopolitical shifts. The stock’s current price of A$2.34 sits significantly above both its 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) of A$1.964 and its 200-day SMA of A$1.729, indicating what you can see on the chart above, a strong upward trend.
The recent surge in Liontown’s share price is underpinned by a range of positive factors, including robust operational performance, strategic offtake agreements, a strengthened financial position, and bullish sentiment as far as lithium producers are concerned.

Liontown reported a 70% increase in production to 192,514 dry metric tonnes (dmt) in its most recent half-year results. Revenue more than doubled to A$207.5 million, driven by the successful ramp-up of underground operations at the Kathleen Valley project. The company achieved a run-rate of 1 million tonnes per annum and is targeting 1.5 Mtpa by the end of March 2026.
The conversion of convertible notes held by LG Energy Solution into equity has significantly reduced the company’s pro forma gearing from 48% to 22%, bolstering its financial stability. This reduced leverage provides Liontown with greater flexibility to pursue its growth initiatives.
In December 2025, Liontown entered into a binding offtake agreement with Canmax Technologies, committing to supply 150,000 wet metric tonnes of spodumene concentrate annually in 2027 and 2028. The pricing is linked to prevailing spodumene concentrate indices, providing revenue stability and aligning with market conditions. This agreement diversifies Liontown’s customer base and secures long-term revenue streams.
Liontown completed a capital raising in August 2025, securing over A$56 million by issuing more than 76 million new shares at A$0.73 each. This capital infusion is intended to fund production and processing upgrades, supporting the company’s growth initiatives. The successful capital raising demonstrates investor confidence in Liontown’s strategic direction.
The broader market sentiment towards lithium producers remains positive, driven by the increasing demand for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and energy storage systems, whilst from a technical perspective, the stock’s beta of 1.19 suggests higher volatility compared to the broader market. This means that Liontown’s share price is likely to experience more significant swings than the overall ASX index, and when sectors are swinging bullish, that works in LTR’s favour.
The breakout above the A$2.20 resistance level confirms the bullish trend and suggests that the stock has the potential to reach even higher levels. Given the recent performance and the upcoming earnings report, investors may anticipate continued volatility. The significant increase above moving averages suggests strong bullish sentiment; however, the high beta indicates potential for substantial price swings.
