Greatland Resources shares (ASX: GGP) have moved to a new high today, propelled by a new joint venture and positive market sentiment, as the company edges closer to the psychologically significant A$10 mark. The company’s strategic moves to expand its exploration footprint are being well-received.
The GGP share price closed at A$9.80, a 1.24% increase on the day, after hitting an intraday high of A$9.91. This brings the total gains since its ASX listing in June to 34.25%. The price of gold is also providing support, currently sitting at $4,333.64 per ounce.
The company announced today that it has entered into a multi-stage farm-in and joint venture agreement with Rincon Resources Ltd covering a large portion of Rincon’s Telfer South tenure. This agreement expands Greatland’s exploration footprint south of its Telfer gold-copper mine, placing it within 30 kilometres of the Telfer processing facility.
Under the agreement, Greatland can earn an initial 51% interest by funding $2 million of exploration over 36 months, including a minimum commitment of $300,000 in the first year. Following this, Greatland can increase its stake to 70% by sole-funding a further $2 million of JV expenditure within the following 36 months, and ultimately to 75% by funding through to a decision to mine. If a mining decision is made and Rincon retains a JV interest, ore produced would be toll-processed through Greatland’s Telfer infrastructure under a toll-treatment arrangement.
The broader Telfer South project covers approximately 215 square kilometres, with the JV area accounting for 200.8 square kilometres. Rincon retains full ownership of the Hasties tenure, including the Hasties Main and Hasties South-East gold-copper deposits.

Greatland Resources commenced trading on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on June 24, 2025, following a successful initial public offering (IPO) that raised A$490 million at A$6.60 per share.
While the production guidance downgrade in July caused a significant drop, the markets appear to have regained confidence due to strategic partnerships and expansion plans. The Rincon Resources joint venture and the ongoing support from gold prices provide a foundation for future growth.
