Greatland Resources shares (ASX:GGP) experienced a significant rally, breaking through the A$10 resistance level as bullish sentiment continues to grow in the name. The GGP share price closed at A$10.55 into the weekend, marking a 7.65% gain for the day.

This bullish momentum translated to a 14.92% increase over the week, as the psychologically significant A$10 barrier, which had previously acted as resistance, was decisively breached. The stock closed at the high of the day, signalling continued buying pressure into the rally.

Greatland Resources’ recent success is underpinned by several key developments. During yesterday’s session, the company announced a multi-stage farm-in and joint venture agreement with Rincon Resources that expands Greatland’s exploration footprint near the Telfer gold-copper mine, potentially enhancing resource potential and operational synergies.

Bullish Sentiment Continues

The company’s inclusion in the S&P/ASX 200 index in August has also contributed to its upward trajectory. This inclusion is projected to generate approximately A$162.5 million in trades from index-following funds, increasing the stock’s visibility and attractiveness to institutional investors.

Greatland Resources reported strong financial performance for the year ending June 30, 2025, with a pretax profit of A$424.9 million, a significant turnaround from the previous year’s loss of A$28.5 million. Revenue reached A$957.4 million, supported by an average realized gold price of A$4,785 per ounce. The company’s robust cash position of A$574.7 million and absence of debt further bolster its financial stability.

In October, Greatland Resources reaffirmed its fiscal year 2026 production guidance of 260,000 to 310,000 ounces of gold at an all-in sustaining cost of US$2,400 to US$2,800 per ounce. This reaffirmation provided clarity on operational expectations and supported the company’s investment narrative, contributing to a 12.1% increase in share price following the announcement.

The markets will be closely watching Greatland Resources’ ability to maintain its production guidance and capitalize on its exploration ventures. The Rincon Resources joint venture, in particular, could unlock significant value if exploration results are positive.

Greatland Resources shares have demonstrated significant momentum, driven by strong financial results, strategic partnerships, and a strong gold price. With shares having gained 44.52% since the ASX listing, many are wondering where the near term ceiling may be.
