Genesis Minerals reported a substantial increase in financial performance for the year ending June 30, 2025. Underlying earnings (EBITDA) surged by 256% to A$454.1 million, while net profit after tax rose by 127% to A$221.2 million. Revenue more than doubled to A$920.1 million, driven by a 59% increase in gold production, reaching 214,311 ounces and surpassing the company’s upgraded guidance.
All-in sustaining costs (AISC) remained steady at A$2,398 per ounce, aligning with guidance. The company’s cash and bullion holdings grew to A$263 million, even after the A$250 million acquisition of Focus Minerals’ Laverton project.
The acquisition of the Laverton project added 4 million ounces of resources, increasing Genesis’ reserves to 4.2 million ounces. Managing Director Raleigh Finlayson commented on the acquisition, stating it “will help us drive production growth, which will in turn reduce unit costs while providing increased flexibility and further de-risking our business.” The company is currently undertaking studies into staged mill expansions at both its Leonora and Laverton operations as part of its “ASPIRE 400” strategy, aimed at accelerating output towards 400,000 ounces annually.
Institutional investment in Genesis Minerals remains strong, with ownership at 44.43% as of May 2025. Significant stakes are held by Australiansuper (17.65%), State Street (7.95%), and Van Eck (7.83%), signaling confidence in the company’s prospects. Furthermore, insider buying, including purchases by CEO Raleigh Finlayson, totaled AU$1.7 million in March 2023, further reinforcing positive sentiment.
Analysts have pointed to the company’s impressive earnings growth and improved EBIT margins. However, some analysts caution that the company’s price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 9.6x, while lower than many peers, requires further revenue growth to justify the current valuation.
Genesis Minerals’ share price surge reflects strong financial performance, strategic acquisitions, and robust institutional backing. While some analysts advise monitoring revenue growth relative to valuation, the company’s growth strategy and recent results create a positive outlook for continued performance.
