4DMedical (ASX:4DX) experienced a significant pullback in its share price today, reversing some of the earlier gains. Shares in the respiratory imaging technology company closed down 10.13% at A$4.08, making it the worst-performing stock on the ASX 200 for the day. This marks a sharp reversal from Friday when 4DX led the index with a 15.52% gain. Despite today’s losses, the stock remains up 750% over the past year and 114.74% over the past month, reflecting substantial growth.
The primary catalyst for 4DMedical’s rise has been the FDA 510(k) clearance received in September 2025 for its CT:VQ™ platform. This software converts standard, non-contrast chest CT scans into quantitative ventilation and perfusion maps, offering enhanced lung imaging without contrast agents. Concurrent with FDA clearance, the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) confirmed reimbursement for CT:VQ™ under Category III CPT codes, facilitating broader adoption.
Following these approvals, several leading U.S. medical centers, including Stanford University, the University of Miami, and the Cleveland Clinic, integrated the CT:VQ™ platform into their clinical workflows. Further bolstering its market position, 4DMedical expanded its distribution agreement with Philips in December 2025, securing a minimum US$10 million order commitment for CT:VQ™ over 2026 and 2027, aimed at accelerating adoption across North America.
The recent downturn could well be driven by some profit-taking, with markets capitalizing on the substantial gains made in recent months. While the pullback may introduce short-term volatility, the underlying fundamentals of the company remain strong, and this could be a test of support around A$4.

The future performance of 4DMedical shares will likely depend on continued adoption of the CT:VQ™ platform, successful execution of the Philips partnership, and the company’s ability to demonstrate long-term clinical and economic value to healthcare providers.
