SYDNEY, AAP – Investors on the Australian share market have had their first day of gains this week and recouped most of their losses.
The market on Thursday closed about half of one per cent higher after a good lead from Wall Street.
Technology stocks were standout performers, followed by materials.
There were losses for shares in energy, financials and utilities.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index closed higher by 39.2 points, or 0.54 per cent, to 7311.7.
The All Ordinaries closed up 48.3 points, or 0.64 per cent, to 7620.2.
The Australian dollar was buying 73.86 US cents at 1619 AEDT, higher from 73.41 US cents at Wednesday’s close.
