Construction work done across Australia fell by 1.9 per cent in the March quarter.

Total building work on homes was dropped 2.5 per cent on the previous three months on a seasonally adjusted basis, while work on non-residential buildings grew by 3.6 per cent, Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show.

The biggest quarterly fall – 3.9 per cent – was again in engineering work, while total construction work was down by 6.0 per cent from the same time last year.
