Shares have closed lower for the second consecutive session, but the Australian market had a fourth straight week of gains, fuelled by optimism about coronavirus vaccines.
The S&P/ASX200 benchmark index closed lower by 35.3 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 6601.1 on Friday.
The index finished 0.95 per cent ahead for the week.
The All Ordinaries closed Friday with a drop of 32 points, or 0.47 per cent, to 6816.8.
Energy shares fared worst, down 1.81 per cent.
There was no trade in US markets due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Aussie dollar was buying 73.75 US cents at 1619 AEDT, up from 73.59 US cents at Thursday’s close.
