FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. reached a milestone in its output on Monday with the 10 millionth vehicle rolling off its production line, the company said.
The 10 millionth car produced by the company, a joint venture between China FAW Group Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Corp., was a new-energy vehicle and was built in the company’s production base in north China’s Tianjin Municipality.
Despite the epidemic, in the first 10 months of this year, FAW Toyota’s cumulative output of vehicles increased by 10 percent year on year, said Huang Yong, executive deputy general manager of the company.
Founded in 1953 in the northeastern city of Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, FAW Group is seen as the cradle of China’s auto industry. It also has joint ventures with carmakers such as Volkswagen.
