WEB – WEBJET LIMITED – up 30.61 per cent, or $3.48, to $14.85

The online travel company reported first-half profit rose 37 per cent, to $25.2 million, and said it was now making most of its money from its WebBeds division, which sells hotel rooms to travel agents and tour operators.

WES – WESFARMERS LTD – up 6.88 per cent, or $2.25, to $34.97

The Perth-based conglomerate says it is handing more than $1 billion in profits from the demerger with Coles back to its shareholders in the form of a special dividend.

FPH – FISHER & PAYKEL HEALTHCARE – up 7.27 per cent, or 93 cents, to $13.73

The New Zealand medical products company has settled its three-year patent dispute over apnea masks with San Diego-based RedMed, which had cost both companies millions of dollars in legal fees. Neither company admitted wrongdoing. Details of the settlement were confidential, but Fisher & Paykel Healthcare said it wouldn’t have a material effect on its net profit.

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP – down 4.19 per cent, or 28 cents, to $6.41

A day after shares in the iron ore producer jumped 5.35 per cent on positive earnings results, it gave back most of its gains.

SYD – SYDNEY AIRPORT – up 1.73 per cent, or 12 cents, to $7.07

The airport said its earnings were up 7.2 per cent to $1.28 billion, and it saw 44.5 million passengers, a 2.5 per cent rise. It increased its dividend 8.7 per cent, to 37.5 cents.

QAN – QANTAS AIRWAYS – up 1.94 per cent, or 11 cents, to $5.77

The airline will launch a fresh $305 million buyback despite first-half profit falling 16.3 per cent to $498 million on a big jump in fuel costs.
