Stocks of interest at the close of trade on the ASX on Wednesday, December 19:

BGA – BEGA CHEESE – down 70 cents, or 12.3 per cent, to $4.98

Bega shares tumbled after the dairy manufacturer said drought and farmgate pricing pressure would hurt its milk processing division and overall bottom line in the coming year.

NAB – NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK – up 19 cents, or 0.8 per cent, to $23.32

ANZ – ANZ BANK – up 25 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $23.94

NAB and ANZ both copped first strikes at their AGMs on Wednesday as shareholders voted the against executive pay structures.

GNC – GRAINCORP – down 13 cents, or 1.4 per cent, to $8.96

GrainCorp says it is providing suitor Long-Term Asset Partners due diligence to put forward a more certain proposal than the $2.38 billion all-cash takeover deal it currently has on the table.

QAN – QANTAS AIRWAYS – up 28 cents, or 5.1 per cent, to $5.80

Energy stocks were weaker due to lower oil prices, but fuel-dependent airlines got a boost from the cheaper prices.
