Stocks making moves or news at the close of trade on the ASX on Friday, October 12:

A2M – A2 MILK – up 60 cents, or 7.19 per cent, to $8.94

A2 Milk has been one of the markets strong recoveries on Friday after falling about 15 per cent on Thursday.

FMG – FORTESCUE METALS GROUP – up 20 cents, or 5.3 per cent, to $3.96

FMG launched a share buyback program of up to $500 million ($US355 million) on Thursday while iron ore prices also improved overnight.

FXJ – FAIRFAX MEDIA GROUP- down 10.5 cents, or 13.55 per cent, to 67 cents

NEC – NINE ENTERTAINMENT- down 26 cents, or 12.4 per cent, to $1.84

DHG – DOMAIN HOLDINGS- down 43 cents, or 13.44 per cent, to $2.77

Shares in Fairfax Media, Nine Entertainment have slumped ahead of their planned merger after Fairfax flagged a five per cent drop in revenue.

ANZ – ANZ BANKING – down 10 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $25.91

CBA – COMMONWEALTH BANK AUSTRALIA – up three cents, or 0.04 per cent, to $67.03

NAB – NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK – down nine cents, or 0.35 per cent, to $25.91

WBC – WESTPAC BANKING – up 16 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $26.45

Australians are punishing the nation’s big four banks for the misconduct uncovered by a royal commission, according to the head of ANZ who has accepted responsibility for the harm caused by his bank.
