The ACCC approved the $13 billion acquisition of APA Group by Hong Kong conglomerate CK Group.
FIG – Freedom Insurance – down three cents, or 20 per cent, at $1.20
Shares in junior life insurer Freedom fell heavily on Wednesday as damaging evidence was heard about its treatment of customers at the banking royal commission.
MYR – Myer Holdings – down 2 cents, or 4.6 per cent, at 41.5 cents
Department store chain Myer recorded a full-year net loss for 2017/18 of $486 million after sales fell 3.2 per cent.
BHP – BHP BILLITON – down 10 cents, or 0.3 per cent, at $31.10
RIO – RIO TINTO – down 26 cents, or 0.4 per cent, at $71.06
The mining giants were bruised by falling iron ore prices after Chinese steel futures fell on Tuesday.
