AMP – AMP Limited – up 13 cents, or 3.9 per cent, to $3.48

Shares in AMP closed up despite the scandal-plagued financial service company reporting a first-half profit drop of 74 per cent.

CBA – Commonwealth Bank – up $1.92, or 2.6 per cent, to $74.81

Commonwealth Bank posted a drop in annual cash profit of $9.23 billion, hit by a $700 million fine after the nation’s biggest bank broke anti-money laundering laws.

TAH – Tabcorp – up 34 cents, or 7.6 per cent, to $4.84

Tabcorp shares lifted after the company reported a return to profit in 2017/18.

CVN – Carnarvon Petroleum – up 14.5 cents, or 29.9 per cent, to 63 cents

Shares in Carnarvon Petroleum have soared following the discovery of oil at an oil field off Western Australia.
