President Donald Trump lashed out at European Union trade rules Tuesday, saying the bloc has made life near ‘impossible’ for US firms, as he refused to back down from controversial tariffs.
‘The European Union has been particularly tough on the United States, they make it almost impossible for us to do business with them,’ Trump said as he hosted Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven at the White House.
The president’s comments come amid the threat of tit-for-tat sanctions and a possible trade war as he prepares to place tariffs on steel and aluminum.
