Wall Street stocks fell sharply Thursday after President Donald Trump said he will enact steep tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, reviving worries of a trade war.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had lost 1.7 percent to close at 24,595.14.
The broad-based S&P 500 dropped 1.4 percent to 2,676.52, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.3 percent to 7,180.36.
