Wall Street stocks tumbled once again into sell-off mode Thursday, deepening losses as they neared the closing bell of another bruising session.
At close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down more than 1,000 points, or 4.15 percent, at 23,860.46.
The broad-based S&P 500 dropped 3.75 percent to 2,581.00, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index tumbled 3.9 percent to 6,777.16.
Analysts cited higher Treasury bond yields as the catalyst for Thursday’s drop.
US markets have been under pressure all week due to worries the Federal Reserve may accelerate interest rate hikes if inflation rises suddenly.
