Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange:

AWE – AWE – down seven cents, or 10 per cent, at 63 cents

The Chinese state-owned energy corporation interested in buying the Australian oil and gas group withdrew its $430 million bid.

HVN – HARVEY NORMAN – up 25 cents, or 6.25 per cent, at $4.25

JBH – JB HI-FI – up $1.63, or 6.76 per cent, at $25.73

MYR – MYER – up one cent, or 1.3 per cent, at 78 cents

WES – WESFARMERS – down 16 cents, or 0.36 per cent, at $43.76

WOW – WOOLWORTHS – down 3 cents, or 0.1 per cent, at $26.82

All major categories of the retail sector recorded growth in October as total spending hit $26.05 billion, seasonally adjusted, up 0.5 per cent from September.
