BUY RECOMMENDATIONS
BUY – New Hope Corporation (NHC)
I have been bullish on this thermal coal producer for several months. I believe global demand for coal will remain elevated. The conflict in the Middle East is lifting demand for thermal coal, with countries, such as Japan, increasing coal-fired power generation to offset instability in gas markets. During the past few weeks, NHC shares broke out of a bullish technical pattern on strong volume, which implies significant upside from here.
BUY – Betashares Global Uranium ETF (URNM)
I remain positive about the outlook for the uranium sector. URNM provides exposure to a portfolio of mining, exploration and development companies in the global uranium industry. URNM stock rose from $6.34 on April 3, 2025 to $15.24 on January 29, 2026. The stock was trading at $12.31 on April 2, 2026. The recent dip provides investors with another buying opportunity. We expect demand for uranium to exceed supply in the years ahead, particularly as countries diversify their energy sources away from fossil fuels.
HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS
HOLD – Woodside Energy Group (WDS)
We were buying this major oil and gas producer prior to the conflict in Iran in response to looming supply issues. Investors have been underweight in the energy sector. As the world increasingly focuses on tightening energy supplies, we expect investors will start adding the most liquid and blue chip energy stocks to their portfolios. The largest on the ASX is Woodside Energy. The share price recently pushed beyond several major technical levels, which is a positive sign from a charting point of view.
HOLD – BHP Group (BHP)
The commodities bull market has only just started, in my view. As a global mining giant, BHP generally appeals to investors looking to increase exposure in the resources sector. BHP’s share price has retreated to a major support level since the start of the war in Iran. I’m confident the stock should bounce from these levels. BHP’s diversification makes it a safer bet for investors to ride the commodities bull market.
SELL RECOMMENDATIONS
SELL – Pro Medicus (PME)
The company provides medical imaging software and services to hospitals and healthcare groups across the world. We remain negative on the technology sector as higher interest rates, continuing market volatility and increasing uncertainty leaves investors questioning the high multiples that companies, such as Pro Medicus, trade on. As we saw in the early 2000s, technology stocks can lose a significant amount of value before they become attractive again. This rotation out of technology stocks often sees investors flocking to hard assets, such as mining company shares. This is what we’re seeing in sharemarkets at the moment, and this dynamic has further to go, in my view. PME shares have fallen from $330.48 on July 17, 2025 to trade at $120.17 on April 2, 2026.
SELL – Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (DMP)
Although the share price of this fast food company has lost a lot of value in the past few years and recently remained in a downtrend, I don’t see any price support emerging at current levels. The company is entering a challenging period, where increasing costs and lower consumer confidence could erode margins and put downward pressure on earnings. I can’t identify a positive catalyst at least until the company posts full year results in August. I expect investors to continue selling the stock on any sharemarket bounce.

BUY RECOMMENDATIONS
BUY – QBE Insurance Group (QBE)
Elevated premium rates and higher interest yields combine to drive earnings momentum. Improvement was clear in its full year 2025 results released in February. Net profit after tax of $US2.157 billion was up from $US1.779 billion in the prior corresponding period. Premium growth remained solid, with gross written premiums increasing 7 per cent to $US23.9 billion, driven by rate increases across North America and international markets. At the same time, catastrophe costs were well below expectations. This combination of underwriting strength and cost control supported a 25 per cent increase in the full year dividend to $A1.09 a share. Improved quality of earnings and reduced volatility adds to QBE’s appeal.
BUY – Peet Limited (PPC)
Peet is a residential developer, creating master-planned communities, townhouses and apartments. The first half year result in fiscal year 2026 reinforces the company’s fundamental strength. Net operating profit of $50.9 million rose 102 per cent, supported by solid settlement volumes and a notable expansion in EBITDA margins to 34 per cent. The forward pipeline is equally encouraging, with $776 million in contracts on hand, up 27 per cent since mid-2025. The balance sheet remains resilient, providing the flexibility to activate its sizeable land bank despite the high interest rate environment. The fully franked interim dividend of 6.5 cents a share underlines management’s confidence and current cash flow strength.
HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS
HOLD – BHP Group (BHP)
The company remains a global resources powerhouse, increasingly focused on future-facing commodities, such as copper and potash. The first half result in fiscal year 2026 highlights a robust performance across its portfolio. Iron ore continues to deliver strong cash flow, but copper has become the standout performer, contributing about 51 per cent of total earnings. Copper production guidance has been upgraded to between 1.9 million tonnes and 2 million tonnes following record output at its Escondida operation and various South Australian assets. Valuation metrics indicate that BHP was recently trading in line with historical enterprise value-to-earnings multiples, reflecting solid fundamentals and current commodity price expectations.
HOLD – South32 (S32)
The mining giant is navigating a complex portfolio transition while managing near term operational challenges. The Mozal Aluminium smelter in Mozambique was placed in care and maintenance on March 15, 2026. We’re encouraged by the company’s first half result in fiscal year 2026. Underlying EBITDA of $US1.1 billion was up 9 per cent on the prior corresponding period. Underlying earnings of $US435 million grew 16 per cent, supported by higher base and precious metals prices. Copper and zinc production remained strong, highlighted by a 28 per cent increase in underground ore reserves at Cannington. From a valuation and technical standpoint, we see S32 as fairly valued following a strong rally earlier this year. The stock is consolidating, with technical indicators appearing neutral, and we view it as a wait and see opportunity.
SELL RECOMMENDATIONS
SELL – Endeavour Group (EDV)
Endeavour operates liquor outlets, hotels and gaming facilities. In our view, key concerns emerged in its first half result in fiscal year 2026. Underlying group earnings before interest and tax of $563 million fell 5.4 per cent despite a 0.9 per cent increase in group sales to $6.7 billion. While the hotels segment generated a 4.4 per cent increase in sales, the retail division, comprising Dan Murphy’s and BWS, posted a 11.6 per cent decline in underlying EBIT. Statutory net profit after tax fell 17.1 per cent to $247 million, impacted by $45 million in significant items. Downward revisions in consensus earnings per share suggest the bottom may not have been reached at this point.
SELL – Centuria Industrial REIT (CIP)
As the largest pure play industrial fund in Australia with a portfolio of 85 high quality assets, the trust has delivered solid growth, including a 40 megawatt data centre expansion. Yet the market is increasingly wary about industrial rent growth amid a cooling economy. A potentially looming supply issue may peak in mid calendar year 2026, which could challenge historically low vacancy rates in urban markets. Rising interest rates on debt is another concern for a company with a $3.9 billion portfolio. Although the portfolio maintains an occupancy rate of 95.7 per cent and a weighted average lease expiry of 7.1 years, broader economic headwinds remain.

BUY RECOMMENDATIONS
BUY – Capstone Copper Corp. (CSC)
This copper miner and developer has five long-life assets strategically located in the Americas. CSC is one of a limited number of pure play copper names listed on the ASX. Copper production growth differentiates CSC from its peers. Growth is driven by a combination of near term and longer dated brownfield and greenfield projects, alongside a declining cost profile. CSC was recently trading on a modest price-earnings ratio in 2026 and offers good value at these price levels.
BUY – Aristocrat Leisure (ALL)
Aristocrat Leisure designs, develops and distributes gaming content, platforms and systems. It offers high quality recurring earnings from generating real money online gaming opportunities. An under geared balance sheet provides options for acquisitions, and ALL is a capital light business with strong cash conversion. The company is trading well below historical levels. The stock is attractively valued given its track record of proven earnings growth.
HOLD RECOMMENDATIONS
HOLD – CSL Limited (CSL)
This biotechnology giant has a strong research and development pipeline and a successful track record in launching new products. Its first half result in fiscal year 2026 was softer than expected, with net profit after tax and amortisation declining 7 per cent. However, the company’s outlook appears supported through a combination of cost-outs, marketing initiatives and diminishing headwinds, which are all reinforced by the board’s urgency around operational delivery. This provides long term appeal for investors already holding the stock.
HOLD – BHP Group (BHP)
BHP is a diversified mining company producing iron ore, copper, nickel, metallurgical coal and potash. First half revenue in fiscal year 2026 grew 11 per cent on the prior corresponding period and profit after tax was up 28 per cent. The fully franked interim dividend of US73 cents a share was up 46 per cent and ahead of consensus. BHP’s fundamentals position it to play a recovery in China’s subdued growth. Capital expenditure cycles and copper growth provide a compelling reason to retain BHP as a core position in portfolios.
SELL RECOMMENDATIONS
SELL – DigiCo Infrastructure REIT (DGT)
DGT is a data centre real estate investment trust. This developer operates across Australia and North America. The REIT requires significant capital expenditure to expand in an already competitive environment. The company’s first half result in fiscal year 2026 and its profit forecasts for the full year fell short of investor expectations. While the outlook in the data centre space has incrementally improved, management will need to deliver before there is meaningful conviction in the business.
Shares in DGT were priced at $5 in the initial public offering prior to listing on the ASX on December 13, 2024. The shares were trading at $1.89 on April 2, 2026.
SELL – Guzman Y Gomez (GYG)
Guzman Y Gomez owns, operates and franchises Mexican inspired quick service restaurants in Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United States. The company’s premium valuation is predicated on expectations it will deliver material earnings per share growth over many years. In our view, the company is exposed to execution risk as it aggressively continues to open new restaurants in Australia. Australian earnings were up strongly in the first half of 2026. However, segment underlying EBITDA in the United States posted a loss of $8.3 million. Management will need to narrow its losses in the US and increase the pace of US expansion to ultimately deliver value for shareholders. GYG shares have fallen from $31 on March 31, 2025 to trade at $15.735 on April 2, 2026.
